Subjects Taught
First Grade

I am very privileged and blessed to have been teaching at Broadview
Elementary School for the last 29 years. I do not know where the time has
gone! I have seen many positive changes take place here during this time.
We have grown from less than 100 students to over 300.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Education from
Auburn University (with Honor). I earned my Master of Education in
Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University. I have my
+30 from Cumberland University.

My first year at Broadview was in first grade, in 1989.
During my second year I taught 5th grade in the morning and kindergarten
in the afternoon! (There were two classes and Dottie Smith taught the morning class.)
It was not until the next year, 1991, that kindergarten in Franklin County became a
full day program instead of half a day. Mrs. Dottie Smith and I each taught a class.
After many years in kindergarten I moved back to first grade after the retirement of
Mrs. Sandra Holmes. I am married with children and grandchildren. My youngest child attended Broadview
beginning in kindergarten and was in the last sixth grade class here. Two of my
grandchildren have also attended Broadview.

I assure you that I will treat your child with the respect that I would want my own
children treated with. I want to provide an enjoyable, solid foundation for your child's
education and success.
