January Poem:

Snowman Poem

One cold and quiet winter day

I made a snowman fat.

His eyes were coal, his hat was Dad’s,

My sister thought of that!

I got a carrot for his nose

A broom for him to hold.

I wrapped my scarf around his neck

To keep him from the cold.

Classroom News

  • Report Cards will be distributed on Tuesday, January 15th. There will be a school-wide assembly in the afternoon. Please remember to sign the report card and the sheet inside the Report Card Folder and return as soon as possible. The testing reports that are included are for you to keep.

  • Our 100th Day of School is January 22 (if we don’t have any inclement weather days)!! J Each year, Broadview students celebrate the 100th Day of School by donating non-perishable food items to The Good Samaritans Ministry.       The Good Samaritans greatly depend on our food drive to be able to serve Franklin County families in need.       During our past 100th Day Celebrations, we have been able to donate over 3,000 food items!       This year, we hope to surpass that total. Each grade will be teaming up to bring in the most non-perishable food items. The two grades with the most items to donate will be treated with Mrs. Johnson’s “Famous” Sausage & Biscuits! You can begin sending in your items at any time!

  • As part of our 100th day of school, we are asking students to send in a collection of 100 items. A Ziploc bag has been sent home today for the 100 items. Your child may use 100 of the same items, or he/she may have a variety of items that total 100. (suggestions: stickers, coins, cotton balls, cereal/pasta, etc.) Please return the collections of 100 things on Tuesday, January 22.       That is the day we will be using the collections. We will group and count our items. The 100th Day Collections will be returned.

  • Parents, as the temperature begins to get cooler, please send your child to school with a coat (name inside, please J). If it is not raining, we will be going outside. If your child has lost a coat or sweater, you may want to look on the lost and found rack.

  • January Book It will be due Friday, February 1st.       Our goal is 20 stories.
