Classroom News

October Book it is well under way. We have some very excited readers!! J Please participate in this reading opportunity. Our sticker charts are filling up! The last day to turn in October Book It will be Thursday, Nov 1.

With the changing of the seasons, morning recess can be a little cool. Your child may need a light jacket while we are outside. Please make sure your child’s jacket has his/her name on the inside tag. (At the end of each year, we donate many unclaimed jackets to Goodwill.) Also, if your child brings an emergency change of clothes in his/her backpack, please make sure they are appropriate for the cooler weather.

Students may dress up in their Halloween costumes on Wednesday, Oct. 31. If your child wishes to dress up, he/she needs to come to school wearing his/her costume. We will not have time to change into costumes before we begin trick-or-treating to the other classes for candy. We will also be doing trunk or treat. Most likely we will be going right after lunch; therefore, students will need to wear their costumes until we finish this activity. If you want your child to change out of his/her costume; send the change of clothes in a plastic bag. We dismiss at 2:30, so our Halloween Party will be at 1:30. The party will be the last thing of the day.

Heads up to all kindergarten students and families. During the month of December, we will open the Jingle Bell Club! Students gain membership into this fun club when they are able to appropriately tie their own shoe laces. You may want to begin working on this skill at home now because the month of December is a short school month. Students who become members earn themselves a jingle bell necklace to wear at school during the month of December. They also earn a brag tag. December 3rd will be the first day to join the club. Start practicing kiddos. J
