  • The character is a person or animal in the story.
  • The setting is where a story takes place.
  • The plot is what happens at the beginning, middle and end of the story.

Your child should be able to name the characters, identify the setting and talk about the actions that make up the plot.

 

Comprehension Strategy

Inferring- Good readers use facts and details from the author and what they already know to come up with their own ideas about the story.
Your child should think about and connect what they might already know about the plot, characters or setting of the story.
